Effect of Insulin on Rodenticide RH-787 - induced Hyperglycemia in Rats
Lee Tae-Hee

Abstract
Mean value of blood glucose level at 48 hours after fasting in rats was 48.7¡¾0.98 mg/100 mi (SE). hyperglycemia may be derived from glycogen in the liver, and 2) hyperglycemia by RH.-787 could not only be depended on the pacreatic insulin.
Blood glucose-, levels at 24 and 48 hours after RH787 administration in 48 hours¢¥-fasted, rats revealed 57.1¡¾1, 37 mg/100 ml and 55.3+1.98 nig/i00 ml respectively. Insulin (injected 0.5 units per kg of body weight) had glucose lowering, effect (31.25 per . cent) in normal rats, while in RH-787-induced hyperglycemic rats there was no effect of insulin to decrease the blood glucose level. When large doses of insulin (1.5 units per kg of body weight) were injected to RH-787-induced hyperglycemic rats, blood glucose was markedly decreased (87 per cent). These results suggested that 1) RH-787-induced
